There’s an old adage when it comes to preparing for disasters, “Three is two, two is one, and one is none”. Basically it means that if you only have one of something, you need at least one spare just in case the first one breaks, gets stolen, or your needs become too great. But is it possible that this is true, and are there places where it may not be? Let’s take a look.

You may wonder why I would even question an old prepping maxim like this. The truth is, I question it mainly owing to a limited pocketbook.
